The weather this time of year is generally mild with occasional scattered rain showers. Winds vary from day to day but are reasonable most days.
The offshore reefs of the Tampa - Saint Petersburg area really become active during April. Bluefish, Spanish and King Mackerel all migrate along the coast following the threadfin bait schools. Sharks and barracuda patrol the waters in seach of an anglers struggling fish usually resulting only the head of the catch making it into the boat. Inshore the seatrout and spanish mackerel are easily accessable.
